SCANDAL is four-member girl band from Osaka, Japan. They released their major debut single, "DOLL", in October 2008, under EPIC Records Japan.

Aug.2006, a brand new Rock band "SCANDAL" as formed with bright and talented four high school girls in Osaka, Japan. Every weekend since, SCANDAL has been very actively performing at SHIROTEN, a sacret place for street live performance at Osaka Castle Park. Time goes and SCANDAL starts to get offers from clubs and music halls around Osaka and Kyoto.

Information

SCANDAL was formed in August 2006 by four high school girls. The girls, HARUNA, TOMOMI, MAMI, and RINA, met in an Osaka vocal and dance school. Shortly thereafter, they started performing street lives every weekend at Shiroten in Osaka Castle Park. Their popularity steadily began to grow and they started getting offers from clubs in Osaka and Kyoto.

Soon, SCANDAL signed with indie label Kitty Records and released three singles exclusive to Tower Records in 2008. The first, "Space Ranger", ranked #2 on the Tower indie charts and the other two, "Koi Moyou" and "Kagerou", ranked #1. In March, they embarked on "Japan Nite US tour 2008", touring six major cities in the United States. They also performed at Sakura-Con, one of the largest anime conventions in the United States. In July, they preformed in front of 10,000 people in France's "Japan Expo" and also "Ani-Com Hong Kong" in August. SCANDAL concluded their indie career with the release of their first mini-album, YAH! YAH! YAH! HELLO SCANDAL ~Maido! SCANDAL Desu! Yah Yah Yah!~.

2008 continued to be an eventful year for SCANDAL. In October, they made their major debut on EPIC Records Japan with their single "DOLL". This has given them more exposure, including appearances on mainstream music television shows like Music Station. To commemorate TOMOMI and MAMI's high school graduation, the group released their second major single "SAKURA Goodbye" in March 2009. This song is a new version of their indie song, "SAKURA", only heard live. The next month, their then upcoming third single "ShoujoS" was used as the tenth opening theme for the anime Bleach. This brought their popularity up even higher as the single ranked #6 on the Oricon charts when it was released two months later in June.

Touted as China's first big sci-fi film, Kungfu Cyborg: Metallic Attraction actually squeezes many more genres into its loaded storyline. It's also a martial arts actioner, a buddy cop comedy, a romantic comedy, a melodrama, and a special effects robot fight-off! The latest from director Jeff Lau, who showed he could mesh genres like no other in the Stephen Chow classic A Chinese Odyssey, Kungfu Cyborg is set in a near future where state-of-the-art robots have been developed by the government, but one particular robot decides to challenge the authority of its creators.




Alex Fong Lik Sun (I Corrupt All Cops) takes on his biggest role to date as a cyborg cop whose abilities to fight and love are tested. Acclaimed actor Hu Jun (Red Cliff) makes a rare comedic appearance as his reluctant partner, and romantic rival for the hand of Betty Sun (Painted Skin). Ka Ying, and Gan Wei furnish more laughs, but the kung-fu part of the title is taken care of by action director Yuen Tak (Fong Sai Yuk, Swordsman II) and martial arts star Wu Jing (Legendary Assassin) as a too cool rogue robot. The impressive animation and special effects that went into creating the film's battling robots and inventive action scenes have earned Kungfu Cyborg: Metallic Attraction comparisons to Transformers.




Built by the state to fight crime, coifed super cyborg K-1 (Alex Fong) is stationed in the countryside under the supervision of self-righteous cop Dachun (Hu Jun), who's less than thrilled about the arrangement. Dachun wants to be the hero, not baby-sit a robot, especially one that shows him up and starts making eyes at his long-time crush, policewoman Su Mei (Betty Sun).
